IUCLID training course on SCIP notification for substances of very high concern (the candidate list substances) in articles to ECHA:

We offer the following seminar: IUCLID training on SCIP notification to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

SCIP stands for “Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects (Products)”. The SCIP database was developed by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) on the basis of the Waste Framework Directive (EU) 2018/851 (WFD). Companies that place articles with so-called SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern), which are listed in the candidate list of the European chemicals regulation REACH, on the market in the EU must submit information to the ECHA. Since 5 January 2021, data must be reported to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) for articles containing SVHC with a concentration of more than 0.1 percent by mass.

The aim of the database is to help waste management companies to identify articles containing SVHC and to recycle them more effectively. It also serves to inform consumers about SVHCs contained in articles.

The notification requires its own format, which can be created, for example, with the IUCLID software used to register substances.

The IUCLID-SCIP seminar covers the following topics (selection):

  • Introduction to IUCLID6 – legal aspects – REACH IT/ ECHA Submission Portal for SCIP notifications
  • IUCLID system overview
  • User administration - creating different user accounts with different access rights
  • Creation of articles taking into account the special features of complex articles
  • Import/creation of reference substances for the SVHC
  • IUCLID data record entry and maintenance in different IUCLID sections for the data required for a SCIP notification
  • Import/ export/ printing of IUCLID datasets
  • Dossier creation
  • Creation/ import/ export of dossiers
  • Aspects of the technical completeness check - Validation tool

Each participant creates a complete dossier step by step on their own computer until submission.
